Charging Electric Vehicles

The automotive world has been going through considerable changes in recent years, including a transition to hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and self-driving cars. It is therefore imperative to prepare robotic parking lots for handling these types of vehicles and providing them with parking as well as charging possibilities. Parkomat has developed unique technologies that allow it to provide EV-charging in robotic parking lots and it is, as far as we know, the first company in Israel whose robotic parking facilities already charge electric vehicles in practice.

The company’s products combine its proven proficiency in the field of robotic parking with unique technologies for EV-charging in parking facilities. The company submitted patent applications for the technologies developed for EV-charging in parking facilities.

The advantage of the charging technologies developed by Parkomat in collaboration with one of the world’s leading charging companies is that only standard components, which have been approved for use by the vehicle manufacturers, are used throughout the entire charging chain.

The use of other coupling methods, such that, for example, connect the charging connector directly to the parking surface on which the vehicle is placed, and which use components that have not been tested and are not recognized or approved by the vehicle manufacturers, may lead to charging malfunctions and in some cases even to cause damage to the vehicle’s battery and to entail loss of warranty. Parkomat’s subsidiary, Jupiter-EV, is developing a number of designated products for fast public EV-charging, which have enormous potential at the international level.
